We get asked two questions a lot, what is a Certified Arborist and why is that important? At Carr’s Tree Service we have 12 ISA Certified Arborists on staff spread out across our six locations. Each one of these individuals has years of training and field experience that gave them the knowledge to get certified. As a Certified Arborist they are required to continue their education every year to expand their knowledge of best practices. By becoming Certified Arborists they also have safety training that they must participate in.

A consultation with a Certified Arborist is a good idea. A Certified Arborist is trained in the art and science of planting, caring for, and maintaining individual trees. Some of our Arborists also hold a tree risk assessment qualification. If you are investing your money into something, it makes sense to be sure it is a sound investment. Spending money on your trees can be a great investment if you are getting sound advice from an expert that has been trained in disease and insect diagnosis, proper pruning techniques, and can offer science-based advice on whether it is even worth putting money towards saving a tree. I like to split the science of trees into two categories -tree structure and tree health. Many times, a tree may be very healthy, but the structural integrity of the tree is compromised. Consulting with a certified arborist could save you money and potentially even save someone from getting hurt or killed if a tree is structurally compromised.
