General Manager - Chris Virchow

Southern Minnesota

Hi. My name is Chris Virchow. I am a Minnesota native currently living in New Ulm and Rice, Minnesota. The outdoors is my passion. Fishing, hunting and camping keep me busy through each season.

My passion for supporting customers began with a career as a Customer Advocate in the computer industry. Prior to joining Carr's Tree Service I dedicated 15 years to customer service and sales. I quickly learned that embracing a relationship with a customer is essential in achieving desired outcomes.

I became employed at Carr's in 2001 in the St. Cloud area. Throughout my career with Carr’s I have worked in all four divisions. In April 2015 I transferred to the South West division. Eight of my family members are employed by Carr’s. I value family and Carr’s supports the family life. Carr’s is constantly expanding, taking on new members who expand our capabilities, skill sets and opportunities to grow diverse teams. Working with a variety of individuals, employees and the public are my key strengths. As the Field Supervisor I communicate with multiple levels of the company. From the public customer all the way to the Power Company, I thrive in presenting quality work and leading highly qualified teams.

Safety, quality work and customer satisfaction are the goals of my day to day work. Leading my teams through training and example is my top priority. The daily challenges we face are opportunities to continuously improve and maintain strong business skills for our Minnesota customers.

Field Supervisor: Kevin Weiss

Southwest Minnesota

ISA Certified Arborist

# MN-4632A

My name is Kevin Weiss, I grew up in the small town of Sleepy Eye and have lived there ever since. Out of high school I went to college at Mankato State University for three years, undecided on a major I opted to help my brother start up a landscaping company. We did that for four years.

I started working at Carr's in December of 2000, working my way up to general foreman and running the Benco Electric contract for ten years. In September of 2013 I decided to try something different, taking a job at a Ford dealer in service.

After a year and a half I realized that I really enjoyed working in tree care industry and came back to Carr's. I am currently a general foreman in the southwest division and very happy to be back. I work with some really great people here at Carr's and look forward to many more years.

General Foreman: Jacob Schauf

ISA Certified Arborist, Tree Risk Assessment Qualification(TRAQ)

# MN-4908A

Hi! My name is Jacob Schauf and I am a General Foreman with Carr's Tree Service based out of Belle Plaine where we service the South Metro and surrounding areas.

Growing up on a dairy farm in northwest Wisconsin, I have always had a passion for the outdoors and understood the value of hard work. After graduating from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities and spending some time in the corporate world, I decided to make a change and have been employed at Carr's Tree Service since 2020. The company values, culture, and high-character people at Carr's make working here a genuine pleasure and I couldn't be happier.
Each day at Carr's is different. One day I might be working with our local Rural Electric Cooperatives to execute their vegetation management plan in order to help "keep the customer's lights on". Another day I might be working with a city Forester to remove hazardous and dying trees, ensuring the safety of their residents. And the next day I might be working with a homeowner to develop a plant health care(PHC) plan to protect their trees from pests and disease; helping to maintain the value of their property.
At Carr's, it all boils down to the fact that we love to help people and we do it fairly and with integrity. I look forward to expanding our scope of work in the South Metro and surrounding areas and providing high-quality tree care for years to come.

General Foreman: Matt Wenk

My name is Matt Wenk. I grew up in New Ulm, Minnesota. At a young age my dad taught me how to use a chainsaw safely. I would watch him fall trees for firewood. With practice I realized I was naturally skilled at cutting down and trimming trees. The outdoors became my favorite place to be. As I grew older sports became my main hobbies. Fishing on the river, playing hockey, and riding dirt bikes, four wheelers and snowmobiles.

In 2004 I graduated from New Ulm High School. I started looking for a job relating to the outdoors. I applied to Carr’s Tree Service and was hired in June. From there I started as a ground technician in Southern Minnesota. I advanced into a skilled climber, operator and rigger. I was devoted to working hard and performing quality work. I strived for perfection in clean up and leaving every job better than when our crews arrived.

In 2009 I became a general foreman for the Southwest Metro area. Through this position I have been able to work face to face with customers and learn how to apply my training to ensure safety, quality and customer satisfaction. On a daily basis I strive to lead my team to apply safety at all times, respect for the customer's property, and hard work to produce efficiency at the forefront. I have spent many years at Carr’s Tree Service and have enjoyed serving Minnesota customers with high quality tree care.
