Grounds Person

Desirable Qualtifications:

License Class D. EHAP Training (line voltage recognition). Must be able to verify competencies in each of our training modules for skills required for Grounds person

Duties Include:

Active Crew Operations:

Requirements:

Be on time and willing to learn.

Use of Chainsaws, properly fuel saws, equipment maintenance, pole sawing etc…

Ensuring crew members are following all Carrs Tree Service protocols I.E. signs cones, safety vests, chaps, gloves safety glasses etc…

Work Site Operations:

Skills:

Ensure all Carrs Tree Service protocols are being followed. I.E. Signs, Cone and Vests

Pre job briefing with crew

Listen and learn expectations for safety and production.

Operate chainsaws and perform the more basic operations such as dragging brush and chipping branches.

Work around many different types of equipment such as bucket truck, fecon mower, grapple truck.

Must demonstrate knowledge of all safety protocols.

Communicate often with crew asking questions and learning.

Training:

Skills:

Must be willing to learn new skills and communicate needs of improvement to crew members.

Operator/Climber (2nd person)

Desirable Qualifications: 6 months experience working in the same or similar line of work. Valid License

Class D with ability to obtain Class A. EHAP Training (line voltage recognition). Must be able to verify competencies in each of our training modules for skills required for operator/climber.

Duties Include:

Operating equipment near high voltage powerline. (buket truck, skid loader with fecon head, chainsaws). Equipment maintenance, and pole sawing

Follow all Carrs Tree Service protocols I.E. signs cones safety vests, chaps, gloves safety glasses etc…

Work Site Operations:

Skills:

Ensure all Carrs Tree Service protocols are being followed. I.E. Signs, Cone and Vests

Take part in pre job briefing with crew

Delegate responsibilities to crew members and set expectations for safety and production.

Operate bucket truck and perform the more advanced operations.

Learn how paperwork is filled out.

Communicate often with foreman and ground person

Training:

Train employees on the job how to properly use all tree service equipment; Bucket truck operations, Chainsaw operations, pole saw operations, proper cone and sign set up etc…

Train grounds person on the skills involved with being a operator/climber

Ensuring crew gets to park site/ job site in a timely manner.

Delegating responsibilities to crew members I.E. Gas saws, equipment maintenance,

pole sawing etc…

Ensuring crew members are following all Carrs Tree Service protocols I.E. signs cones

safety vests, chaps, gloves safety glasses etc…

Overseeing Work Site Operations:

Skills:

Ensure all Carrs Tree Service protocols are being followed. I.E. Road Signs, Cones and

Vests

Pre job briefing with crew

Delegate responsibilities to crew members and set expectations for safety and production.

Operate bucket truck near Hi Voltage power lines and perform the more advanced operations.

Apply herbicide when applicable.

Contact landowners when needed to gain permissions to work on properties.

Ensure that paperwork is being filled out accurately and timely.

Communicate often with General Forman.

operations, Chainsaw operations, pole saw operations, proper cone and sign set up etc…

Train operator/climber on the skills involved with being Foreman.
